December 2007
Our dear old mare, Torryburn Walida was layed to rest on December 17 at age 27. While Walida did not leave us a legacy of foals, she relished her job with us of chief Nanny to all our babies.
Walida was sired by the Gleanloch bred Ibn Antar and from the AK Sir Halima daughter Fariha. We purchased her from a Wildon Park dispersal sale in 1992 and she was amoung the first Purebreds that we owned. We showed her once at the South Coast Championships under David Boggs where she won the veteran mare class. In her younger days amoung other awards, she won her filly class at the then huge National Stud show.
Walida had 9 foals in her liftime including one gorgeous gelding for
us by Tarong Shahgig.
Rest in Peace dear Wally.
