The 2008 show season in Victoria is now in full swing, with a host of A class shows one weekend after another following are some of our highlights so far;
CARABI Pre Royal, we took just the one, our Mulahn daughter, Bikrah and she was awarded Reserve Champion Arabian Female.
Goulburn Valley show at Bendigo was next and again Bikrah was our only entrant and she was awarded a 3rd and 2nd in large classes of yearling fillies. Emma Collins who purchased our Shatoor gelding, Shalizar had him at the show as his first under saddle and he took it all in his stride, being awarded Reserve Champion Bridle Path Hack amoung other awards. Kathleen Durston also made her debut with 3yo gelding, Kodochrome (Rokewood Riyadh) who she purchased from us in March, he was awarded highpoint 2yo Futurity.
Then it was on to The All Arabian Show run by the Crabbet group at Werribee, Avondale Faith (owned by Judy and Durham Ritchie} was Reserve Champion Arabian Filly and our Avondale Grace was Surpeme Champion purebred. Al-Kareeme Chanel owned by Michelle Stevens was Reserve Champion Anglo.
Then it was our favourite show this side of Christmas, The Victorian Championships at Tatura, for our precious Mulahn filly, Ajmala Mulahn this was her first outing, and what a way to start, she won what was probably the strongest class of the show and went on to contest the Supreme Champion yearling award, which she won over very fancied competition. the judge, Egyptian, Ali Sharaawi, said " it was obvious from the moment she stepped into the ring, that she was at the top of the class." Westacres Gilded ( by Mulahn) continued on his winning ways racking up his 8th Championship in a row, Avondale Grace was Reserve champion female, 3 - 4 years, Avondale Faith was Champion 2 yo Filly. Veronica McEwan's Mulahn yearling gelding, Mahjongg The Warlock, put on a great performance to be awarded Reserve Ch 1yo gelding.
The South Coast Championships was next and we took our the Palomino partbred colt, Westacres Gilded {Mulahn} where he won his 9th champiosnhip in a row, being champion junior Partbred. Michelle Stevens lovely anglo filly, Al-Kareem Chanel was 1place yearling Anglo filly, Jodie Bairds, cute Arabian Pony colt, Libbity Lodge Darcy was first place yearling pony male, Darcy has been booked in to be gelded, so watch for him in gelding classes next.
